Make a world of difference supporting Vera Aqua Vera Vita on GivingTuesday

Started in the United States only eight years ago, GivingTuesday now inspires generosity in over 60 different countries. Supplying non-profits around the globe with resources and asking individuals to carry on the spirit of giving in the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Now with over 225 Giving Tuesday Communities organized in the United States alone, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving marks a day that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. This year’s GivingTuesday on December 1st  promotes giving back in all types of ways, whether it is helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, every act of generosity counts.

This year, Vera Aqua Vera Vita (VAVV) rides the generosity wave, hoping to use the proceeds from GivingTuesday to provide access to clean water for 200 people in the Piura Region of Peru. VAVV pledges that 100% of the donations given for GivingTuesday will go directly to projects in Piura, Peru, providing clean water and sanitation measures to communities in great need. The goal is to raise $10,000 and VAVV’S supporter gifts have already covered 20% of our goal, reaching $2,000. However, thanks to a generous donor, VAVV has a matching challenge on the table of $5,000. This means that when supporters give $100, enough to provide clean water for two people, VAVV gets $200, which is enough to provide water for four! So, the $2,000 VAVV has already received becomes $4,000, just under half the GivingTuesday goal! Give the gift of True Water True Life right now and your generosity will reach twice as far.

Vera Aqua Vera Vita has begun preliminary work to serve seven new communities in the Piura Region of Peru, initiating the early stages of aid to these communities. VAVV has been conducting interviews and surveys, getting to know these communities’ people, and are now at least almost 90% complete with data collection. VAVV has also partnered with the National University of Piura, who will sample and test the quality of each community’s main water sources. Once all the data is collected, VAVV will use it to determine the order these communities will be served in, based on need, solution ease, potential project impact, chance of success, standing water systems, etc. While the GivingTuesday goal of $10,000 provides 200 people access to clean water, VAVV plans to eventually serve all seven communities, consisting of 2,054 people in total. With $50 providing a lifelong supply of water for one person, preliminary, high-level calculations estimate it will take around $100,000 to complete the  projects in all seven communities.

Vera Aqua Vera Vita is honored to join the global generosity movement on GivingTuesday 2020, December 1st and provide an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity—to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and to heal the wounds of our world by serving and loving, especially those in need. Make a world of difference this GivingTuesday: give the gift of True Water True Life.
