Together we share fundamental resources for Thanksgiving

Have you ever wondered why people don’t exchange gifts for Thanksgiving? You might think that on the day of giving thanks, we would want to show our appreciation for the people we love through a gift. Instead, when people gather in celebration, it’s much more common to bring a dinner dish or a bottle of wine.

This tradition makes sense when we consider the origins of the holiday. Thanksgiving was originally a celebration of shared resources, community, and solidarity through hard times. That’s why the United States continues to gather with family and friends to give thanks to the Lord for all that we’ve received. We feast on delicious thanksgiving foods and share what we’re most thankful for. Thanksgiving is about sharing and celebrating the goods we have, both materially and spiritually.

Especially during this time of celebration and feasting, let us remember our brethren who have less. Let us work to bridge that gap one step at a time.

This Thanksgiving season, Vera Aqua Vera Vita invites you all to share and celebrate the holistic good of True Water True Life with those in need!

The resource of water is not as glamorous as a thanksgiving feast. However, the most fundamental good that can be shared with those living in poverty is access to safe water and adequate sanitation; clean water has the power to liberate rural communities from so much hardship!

Much sickness and early death will stop. Children, especially young girls, will be able to attend school more consistently and for longer. All, but especially women have higher chances of being educated and getting a job. With more time to work and grow, families and communities can have upward mobility and eventually bring themselves out of poverty!

Right now, Vera Aqua Vera Vita is nearly ready to construct a new clean water system for 1,000+ people in rural Peru. In the spirit of Thanksgiving’s sharing of resources, allow us to continue our life-saving work and share the most fundamental resource on the planet - water!

This #GivingTuesday, join us in raising $10,000 towards our Mission – enough to give clean water to 200 people! Every dollar you give now through Giving Tuesday (Nov. 29)  will be matched by our generous donors!

Make a radical act of love when you create a recurring donation and join our RIPPLE community (hint: if you set up your recurring donation through Facebook, Meta will match your gift!). You sustain and bolster our mission when you give in any amount

Prayerfully consider giving to the spread of clean water this Thanksgiving season. It is only together that we can give True Water and True Life.
